DIY PCB - how to design and manufacture printed circuit boards

Matt Gray, GBG

This talk will look at creating your own printed circuit boards (PCBs) to interface with the platform of your choice. If you've built circuits on a breadboard, or soldered up a pre-made board, come along and see what is involved to make your own designs and get them delivered to your door.

We will look at some software such as AutoDesk Eagle, Fritzing, and KiCad, and talk about where to get manufacturing done - it's cheaper than you will expect!

If you're a software developer who wants to tinker with the hardware side of things, this should be a good introduction. Some previous knowledge of basic electronics may be helpful.
