Cultural identity is an essential contributor to our wellbeing. Identifying with the New Zealand culture helps us Kiwis feel we belong and gives us a sense of security and pride. The talk covers the obstacles we had to overcome in order to go from having an English-only, common-looking ecommerce app, to having a multi-lingual app that Kiwis can use to learn the language of our ancestors while "taking care of business".
Nick is the Head of Mobile at Trade Me, New Zealand's leading online marketplace and classified advertising platform in New Zealand. He organises Cocoaheads Wellington and GDG Wellington. More recently Nick has started a small business, Improved, that aims to help people remove the guesswork from finding service providers.
